Deborah Miller:

Deborah Miller has been a para-educator (teacher's aid) for a California state pre-school for 4 years.  She brings with her a Bachelor's Degree in Human Services and a Teaching Permit.  When deciding on a career she wasn't sure if she wanted to be a teacher or social worker.  She obviously chose to teach partly because she has 6 children of her own.

Deborah has many hours of her internship in Resource Specialty Classes, Speech Development and Kindergarten classes with more that 80 hours in each program.  She is CPR and First Aid Certified. References are available from her previous employer and some of the parents of the children that she has taught.

Deborah strives to stay current on all the new learning techniques and different ways to help "little people" develop their minds by taking continuing education classes & workshops.  Certificates for these are in a book for clients to see.

Jeannie Brown:

Jeannie Brown has a daughter who is 12 yrs old.  She has worked with kids for more than 15 yrs.  She has owned her own preschool. . . you could say taking care of kids runs in her family.  Her mom was a nurse and her grandmother was a special needs teacher.  Her brother Mathew is a pediatrician.  As a teenager she helped her step-mom with her home daycare and was a regular baby sitter for many of the daycare parents.  She also worked as an Au Pair in her late teens.

She wants to provide a fun, safe and nurturing environment where children can learn and play.  Her goals are to make learning an enjoyable experience, while helping to build children's self-esteem while providing many enriching opportunities.  Her plans for the learning academy are to prepare children for upcoming school life while keeping it an enjoyable and special place to learn.
